21 DAYS TO HEALING – DAY 2: Healing is in the Atonement

Day Two: Healing is in the Atonement

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 53:5 “But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

Devotional Thought:

The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross was not only for our sins but also for our healing. Isaiah 53:5 prophetically describes the suffering of Christ, showing that His atonement is comprehensive. Jesus bore the punishment we deserved, providing forgiveness for our sins. But He also bore the physical and emotional pain of humanity so that we could be made whole.

When Jesus was scourged before His crucifixion, every stripe on His back was a payment for healing. Matthew 8:16-17 confirms this truth: “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.” Jesus fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy, demonstrating that healing is not just a temporary blessing, but a covenant promise secured through His atoning work.

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the healing purchased on the cross becomes a reality in our lives. Just as we receive salvation through faith, we also receive healing by faith. This is not based on our worthiness but on the completed work of Christ. Trust in His sacrifice today and believe that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in you, bringing life and restoration to every part of your being.

Testimony:

A young father was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition, leaving his family devastated and doctors offering little hope. In desperation, he and his wife began to pray and declare Isaiah 53:5 over his body daily. Their church family joined in fasting and prayer, believing for a miracle. Over the course of several weeks, his health began to improve. When he returned to the doctor, the scans showed no trace of the condition. Today, he shares his testimony to glorify God and encourage others to stand on His Word for healing.

Prayer:

Father God, I thank You for the atoning work of Jesus Christ, who bore my sins and my sicknesses on the cross. I declare today that by His stripes, I am healed. Holy Spirit, I invite You to quicken my body, soul, and spirit, manifesting the healing Jesus has already secured for me. Strengthen my faith as I stand on Your promises and help me to walk in the fullness of Your provision. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action Step:

Take time today to meditate on Isaiah 53:5. Speak it aloud over yourself, declaring the truth of Christ’s atonement for your healing. Write it down and place it somewhere visible as a daily reminder of God’s promise to you.
