21 DAYS TO HEALING – Day 9: The Authority of the Believer in Healing

Day Nine: The Authority of the Believer in Healing

Scripture Reading: Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

Devotional Thought:
As believers in Jesus Christ, we have been given authority over sickness, disease, and every attack of the enemy. Many Christians pray for healing without realizing that God has already equipped them with the power to speak and declare His Word over their bodies. Jesus made it clear in Luke 10:19 that He has given us authority over all the power of the enemy—including the attacks on our health.

When Jesus healed the sick, He often spoke directly to the illness or condition. He commanded the blind to see, the lame to walk, and even rebuked fevers (Luke 4:39). He demonstrated that healing is not only something we request from God, but something we exercise authority over through faith in His name.

Mark 16:17-18 confirms this authority for all believers:
“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons… they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

If you are battling sickness, you don’t have to beg for healing—you have the right to declare it as a child of God. Your authority in Christ means you can rebuke sickness, command it to leave, and stand firm in the healing purchased for you on the cross.

Testimony:
A mother whose young daughter had been suffering from recurring seizures struggled with fear every time her child had an episode. Doctors could not find a solution, and medications had little effect. One evening, as the mother prayed, she felt the Holy Spirit remind her of Luke 10:19—that she had authority over all the power of the enemy.

Instead of begging God to heal her daughter, she took her authority in Christ. She laid her hands on her child and spoke directly to the seizures, saying, “In the name of Jesus, I command this attack to stop! Seizures, you have no right here! I take authority over this and declare my child healed in Jesus’ name.”

She continued this every night, thanking God for His healing power and refusing to give in to fear. Over the next few weeks, the seizures completely stopped. The doctors were amazed, but she knew it was the authority of Jesus at work. Now, she teaches other parents how to stand in faith and walk in the authority Jesus has given them.

Prayer:
Father God, I thank You for the authority You have given me through Jesus Christ. I declare today that I will no longer live in fear of sickness, disease, or any attack of the enemy. Your Word says that I have been given power over all the works of darkness, and I stand in that truth.

In the name of Jesus, I rebuke every sickness and every affliction trying to attack my body. I declare that by the stripes of Jesus, I am healed (Isaiah 53:5). No weapon formed against me shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). I stand in the finished work of the cross and claim complete healing over my body.

Holy Spirit, teach me to walk in the authority Christ has given me. Help me to speak with boldness, to command healing, and to trust in Your power. I refuse to accept anything less than the fullness of Your promises. Thank You, Lord, that healing belongs to me because of Jesus! I receive it now, in His mighty name, Amen.

Action Step:
Today, exercise your authority in Christ. Speak directly to any sickness, pain, or affliction in your body. Declare healing using God’s Word. Say, “In the name of Jesus, I command [sickness or condition] to leave my body. I am healed by the stripes of Jesus!” Do this boldly and consistently.
